These are some of my favorite sounds.
I love it when Sophia wakes up in the morning and is talking in her crib. I took this video a while ago so now she is usually standing up and holding on to the rails. When I go in to get her she gets this big cheeser! It is one of my favorites!
Sophia is obsessed with Elmo. She really could give a care less about Sesame Street, but when she hears nananana, nananana Elmo's World in that high pitch voice she heads right for the television and climbs up to talk to him. I love it! Now she has upgraded to holding on to the entertainment center with one hand and dancing around with the other. That usually lasts until she falls and bashes her head or Elmo is over.

9 Months
It is hard to believe that our little Sophia Kaye is 9 months old. She has been such a joy to have in our home. We love her to death and can't even begin to imagine life without her. She makes us laugh every day and we both feel so blessed to be her parents!
Here are 10 of her favorite things
1. Her Blankie - She likes to stick her fingers and toes through the holes and also pull it up to her face while she sucks on the side of her finger.
2. Books - She loves books!! She loves touch and feel books and also her Jungle and Farm animal books. When I read her two favorite books she gets all excited and starts flapping her arms. She also likes to be a big helper and turn the pages.
3.Super Why - It is her favorite PBS cartoon. When she wakes up in the morning she loves to watch it. It is her little ritual.
4. Loud Music - She gets this from her Daddy! The best way to get her to sleep in the car is to crank the music. Celine Dion is her favorite CD.
5. Dancing with Mommy and Daddy - She loves to dance around in the kitchen when the radio is blasting, and will just giggle and giggle.
6. Bath Time - Sophie absolutely loves her bath. Especially when she can splash Mommy and Daddy. She loves to lounge in the corner of her tub and let her feet hang over the edge.
7. Play Time - She loves her toys and now loves to get into everything as well. Now that she is crawling she loves to explore. Her new thing is to pull all the DVDs down his week she even managed to get her finger stuck in the VCR/DVD player.
8. Paper - She is obsessed with it, but the problem is she wants to eat it. She loves to get the magazines, or anything that she can reach and rip it to pieces and shove it in her mouth. Having 6 teeth makes it so easy to take a big bite!
9. Walks - We all love our Sunday Walks. We have a favorite spot up the canyon where Kuma can jump in the creek and cool down and Sophie just loves to be outside. It is a good thing Daddy has a great back pack to carry her in.
10. Children - She absolutely adores other children. It doesn't matter where we are if she sees another kid she is HAPPY! She is such a little social butterfly. She tries to talk to them and then just giggles and gets all excited. She stalks them out wherever we are!

Our Little Screamer
Ryan and Sophie love to play the screaming game with each other. I must admit that it is kind of funny but not when she decides to do it in Sacrament Meeting. Everyone turns to look our direction as I quickly try to cover her mouth and or take her out to the foyer. She is known in the ward as the baby you can hear long before you can see.

Moab
Ryan had a week break from school, so we decided to take advantage of the time together and went down to Moab for our first camping expedition with Sophia! She did great at camp! She loved to crawl over to the edge of the blanket and play in the dirt, and she loved the fire! She even slept better than Mommy and Daddy. The second night the wind was blowing so hard that the tent was whipping back and forth and she slept right through it. We camped along the Colorado River and spent time at Arches, Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point. We hiked in both parks and were even able to go in the Fiery Furnace. Everyone was suprised at how well Sophie did. She was putting on a show for everyone in the group. Ryan did amazing climbing all over the rocks with her. I couldn't have done it that is for sure. It was a great break to spend time as a family and enjoy some of the beautiful creations in Utah.

On our way home we stopped in Price to get an ICEE. Sophie didn't want any at first, but once she tasted it she went crazy!

Solids
Sophie is now 7 months old. We can hardly believe it! Time sure does fly, and she is growing up so fast. She now has 5 teeth! Her first ones came in at 4 months and now they just keep coming. You have to make sure she doesn't get a hold of a finger or in my case a toe. Dr. Later says she is one healthy girl. She tops the scales at almost 20 pounds and is in the 90% for all areas. Part of this growing up is that she is now eating solids! The diapers are not so fun, but pictures are great! Her favorites are peas and bananas. She actually likes her veggies better than fruit!
My first try at green beans!
Nilla Wafers... We have to be careful because she bites chunks off now with those monster teeth.
I am a big girl and think I need to feed myself.
Yummy Sweet Potatoes and a few prunes on my nose.
Big Carrot smile
Caught in the act! You know how you open your mouth while trying to get them to... well I caught Ryan.
Grandma feeding me bananas.
Down South
I started this post awhile ago and never finished it. So here it is...
Ryan had Spring Break so we took a few days to go down and visit my parents. It was great to get out of town for a few days. Ryan's parents met us in Zion on Friday. Sophie got her first long hike in her back pack and she did great! Saturday we went out the Toadstools in Escalante National Monument and then Papito took us down into Peekaboo slot canyon. He was on Peppe (his Rino) and somehow we managed to make it down in the Pilot. It was a great week! We were so glad to be able to enjoy some of God's beautiful creations and spend time with family. We were able to Darci's cute little bump and spend time with the AZ Bentley's. We sure do miss them. It was a great weekend! Thanks Momma Jo and Papito!
