I Walk 4 Papito

Dear Friends and Family,

As most you know, my Dad has Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). He has stuggled with this disease for over 20 years. Those of you that know him, know how amazing he really is. Click on the link below to read his story.

I have put together a team to participate in the annual Walk for PKD. Proceeds from the walk benefit the PKD Foundation - the only organization world-wide, dedicated to finding a cure for PKD. Feeding the Ducks

This summer our favorite bike ride is down to Spring Lake so we can feed the ducks. The only problem is once we get there the ducks swarm all around me and it freaks me out! Ryan and Sophie just laugh as I try to run from them or shew them away. I don't know what it is, but they will not leave me alone! Other than me looking like an idiot it is still one of my favorite things to do.

Forget the ducks, this is yummy!

Head Banger!

Our little head banger! I wish I had the camera on the other side so you could see Ryan.

Fruits of Labor

So this is how I spent a couple of days last week. Canning! Ryan's Mom brought me some tomatoes, and I had a bunch from my garden. I canned 13 quarts of stewed tomatoes, 8 quarts of spagetti sauce, 12 quarts of salsa and 24 pints of pear jam. My kitchen was a disaster afterwards but it was worth it. It all tastes so yummy! Here is a picture of the first morning's worth of work.

Obsessions

Sophia has many obsessions. Her blankie is one, but here are a few more. CUPBOARDS Anything she can climb into she will or pull things out of. BEING LIKE HER COUSIN MADISON She adores Maddy, but the feeling is not quite mutal yet. See how Sophie is looking at Maddy. She does it all the time...

Sophie has never taken a bottle. Not because we haven't tried, but because she is way too stubborn! Well if Maddy can drink a bottle so can Sophie!

Madison came for a sleep over and Sophie pushed her everywhere on her lion.

Laughing together!

Labor Day Road Trip

We made a road trip to Flagstaff, AZ for Miss Ainsley's baby blessing. It was pretty crazy but way fun! We decided to save on gas and carpooled down with the Lairds. It took two hours to pack the car, but we were finally on the road. We stopped in Kanab to let the girls take a break and Nate ended up in the ER with Kidney Stones. He was a trooper. Finally 12 hours after leaving Payson we made it to Flag. We rented a darling little house right across the street from a great park. So here are some of the Highlights of our trip.

Paintballing for the Boys while the Girls Sewed They are ready to hit the forest! Ryan is the army man and the only one not in his camo. If you look close enough you can see the welt on Josh's neck. Papito took him down literally! A pooped Papi! It is amazing that he can keep up with the young bucks!

Playing at the Park with the Girls
Geocaching even though we got skunked!

Ainsley's Blessing The proud Papa with his little girl. Isn't she cute!

A Trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon
Nate trying to freak Lacey out by getting close to the rim.We had never been to the south rim. It is still breath taking, but I am a North Rim girl!

A Stop in Williams Along Route 66 What a fun little town!
We had a blast watching the girls and grandma dance to the local band.

Madison had us all laughing!I wonder where she got those moves! There were so many people taking pictues of her. We need to check and see if she in on You-Tube!

Laughing So Hard You Could Pee Your Pants Dad was getting his dialysis machine ready and looked like a druggie with all his syringes. He is such a great poser by taking out his bridge and smiling wide.It was late and we were tired so you can imagine how we all became crazy. We stayed up past midnight laughing so hard at all the stupid things we were saying. I really almost wet my pants!

Sunset Crater National Monument

Waputki National Monument Sophia was determined to walk and Ryan's back was killing him. This was his resolution. This place was amazing! We wish we would have had more time.

Great Times in the Car
1300 miles and 20 hours worth of driving! The girls did amazing! Good thing there is a DVD player in the Pilot! Occasionally we would hear Sophie grunting which would work into a scream. That was her way of telling Uncle Nate that his head blocking her view of the screen. Too funny!

As you can see we had a crazy but fun Labor Day Road trip!
